Description:

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Inbound order management: Coordination of inbound shipments of finished goods into 3PL warehouse, ensuring alignment between carriers, supply chain and 3PL.
  • Order Processing Management: Oversee the end-to-end processing of BAT orders, ensuring adherence to defined SLAs and addressing any discrepancies in the order fulfilment pipeline.
  • Capacity Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with BAT commercial teams to align marketing initiatives with warehouse capacity constraints, optimising the throughput of logistics operations.
  • Cost Analysis and Control: Manage and analyse invoices from 3PL providers, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring accurate financial reconciliation against budget allocations.
  • Inventory and Packaging Oversight: Supervise the procurement and allocation of packaging supplies, and coordinate repack activities within the 3PL warehouse.
  • System Integration and Project Management: Lead the development and implementation of integration projects between internal systems and 3PL platforms, enhancing data accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Compliance and Audit Support: Provide accurate data and documentation for external audits, ensuring all logistics activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify inefficiencies within logistics processes and implement strategic improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs.
  • Stock Control and Destruction Management: Oversee monthly stock counts shelf life analysis, managing the systematic disposal of obsolete or damaged stock, ensuring accurate inventory records and regulatory compliance.
  • Transport Management systems: Analyse and manage effective load plans for key account deliveries in accordance with customer service requirements and 3PL transport schedules

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Third-Party Logistics Management: Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.

  • Supply Chain and Inventory Management: Proficiency in supply chain processes, specifically in inventory planning, warehouse management, and order fulfilment, with a focus on optimising inventory levels and minimising stock discrepancies.

  • E-Commerce and ERP Systems Proficiency: Extensive experience with e-commerce platforms such as Magento or Tonic, and ERP/WMS systems like SAP, D365, or SNAP, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting complex data sets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within logistics operations.
  • Project Management: Proven track record in leading and delivering logistics or supply chain projects, particularly in system integrations and process optimisation initiatives.
  • Cost Management and Financial Acumen: Experience in managing logistics budgets, analysing costs, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Audit Preparation: Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting logistics and supply chain operations, along with experience in preparing for and supporting external audits.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal teams, 3PL providers, and other external partners.

TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL / LEADERSHIP SKILLS REQUIRED

  • In-depth understanding of e-commerce platforms, including managing order flows, integrating with logistics systems, and troubleshooting issues
  • Advanced skills in ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), particularly SAP, D365, or SNAP, for managing inventory, order processing, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data analytics tools and techniques to generate insights, develop reports, and articulate insights clearly for stakeholder consumption.
  • Proven ability to identify inefficiencies in logistics operations and implement continuous improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Expertise in inventory management practices, including stock monitoring, cycle counting, and managing stock discrepancies to ensure accurate and timely fulfilment.
  • Skilled in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management within a logistics context, including negotiating with vendors and managing logistics expenses.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, e-commerce, marketing, and external 3PL partners, to achieve common goals.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including team coordination, stakeholder management, and effective communication skills to lead projects and resolve conflicts.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Business related degree or similar
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within FMCG

  • Digital capabilities or experience within Business Intelligence and Analytics are considered an advantage
  • Worked within last mile delivery to consumer
  • Awareness of international logistics regulations and compliance requirements, particularly those related to import/export, customs clearance, and hazardous materials.
  • Experience in implementing sustainable logistics practices, such as optimizing routes for fuel efficiency, reducing packaging waste, or utilizing eco-friendly materials.
