Description:
We are in search of a Logistics Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry, stationed in Garland, Texas. This role involves overseeing the logistics and procurement processes, with a focus on international ocean freight logistics. The position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. 5 days a week ONSITE in Garland, TX 75040.
Contract-to-Hire position for a Logistics Manager with international freight experience:
SKILLS:
- Proficient in Logistics and Logistics & Distribution
- Familiarity with the Logistics Industry
- Understanding of Freight Costs, Freight Claims, and Freight Charges
- Knowledge of Ground Transportation
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a logistics management role
- Proficient in logistics and distribution management
- Comprehensive understanding of the logistics industry
- Experience in managing and auditing freight costs, claims, and charges
- Familiarity with ground transportation processes and regulations
- Ability to develop strategies to improve logistics processes
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in the use of logistics software and systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

Responsibilities:
- Oversee international ocean freight logistics operations, including direct contract NBOs
- Establish and maintain relationships with steam lines, such as Maersk, SME, Hyundai, and more
- Handle contracts and secure freight, ensuring smooth logistics operations
- Manage the entire process of freight building with containers
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering their growth in the logistics field
- Handle over the ground logistics operations
- Manage both inbound and outbound logistics, including securing vendors for shipping products
- Oversee the logistics process from issuing a PO, booking a container, receiving inventories, to warehouse management and sales
- Proactively handle any issues that arise during the logistics process
- Utilize logistics software such as Blue Cherry, Expeditor, and BDO to improve efficiency
- Make recommendations for logistics process improvements
- Manage vendor portals, customs, and broker portals for streamlined operations.
- Spend a significant portion of time on booking containers for freight operations.
