Description:
KEY OBJECTIVE(S):
- The Logistics Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the staff and administration of the transportation, delivery and set-up of goods within West Edmonton Mall, while reviewing and enhancing department protocols and procedures.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience setting up events, logistics planning, and communicating with internal and external clients and representatives.
- Post-secondary education in business management, project management or equivalent training is an asset.
- Previous experience in acting in a supervisory or management-based position.
- Self-driven with the ability to supervise staff adhering to broad task-based goals and objectives.
- Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills are required.
- Physically capable of performing the set up and tear down of events and must be able to work occasionally at heights.
- Completion of fall protection and aerial platform certifications or willing to take the required training is required.
Responsibilities:
- Completing site visits to ensure logistic services (i.e., Set-Up, Promotions, deliveries, etc.) and related tasks are being completed as per requests and to an acceptable standard while ensuring the staff of the department are utilizing their time in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Utilizing of the Mallpoint tracking system and Logistic Requests to monitor and delegate tasks to the Logistics team while ensuring all required projects and tasks are completed on time and to an acceptable level of standards.
- Acting as the main point of contact for the Logistics department with internal department representatives and external event representatives while monitoring required emails and communications for updates and/or delegating responsibilities to the team.
- Participating in aspects of the work of the Logistics crew by engaging in the setting up and breaking down of events (i.e. stages, tables, chairs, signage displays), processing of mall specified shipments and other projects and tasks of the department.
- Overseeing the staff and the procedures of the Logistics department by responding and following up with any questions, inquires, or concerns relating to property logistics & operations.
- Coordinating project planning meetings, developing new protocols and best practices for the department and exploring new opportunities for department enhancements and the services the department provides to the company.
- Ensuring all stock, displays, and set-up goods are being stored and locked up when not in use and all inventory is accounted for.
- Acting as a liaison between the Logistics department and Marketing, Specialty Leasing, Property Management, Maintenance, Administrative offices or other areas to resolve any conflicts, operational issues, staff performance reviews, or other matters.
- Creating and managing budgets for the Logistics dept.
- Creating and presenting quarterly reports for review of the Logistics dept including budget updates, event set up review, staff stats etc.
- Ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and Logistics staff are current on safety training. Making sure that all equipment used by the logistics Dept is current on safety checks and documentation.
- Performing department scheduling, vacation requests, and payroll submission/discrepancy forms when required.
- Other responsibilities as required.
