We are looking for a Planning Manager to be based at our site in Grange Park site (NN4 5FB)This role involves remote work of up to 3 days per week (Subject to Business Requirements).
As a Planning manager you will be responsible for effectively manage one of the dedicated ALL Operational teams in delivering Yusen Logistics’ service commitment and customer expectations across client’s global supply chain, through robust and sustainable processes aligned to quality, service and cost control.
This a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £41,695.5 (depending on experience). The working scheduling is predominantly a Monday – Friday working 8:00 till 17:00

Key responsibilities:

  1. Operations
  • Develop and manage the achievement of SLAs, identify improvements associated with quality, service and cost, and trend root cause analyses of issues for improvement.
  • Design re-evaluate and test Yusen BCPs, as well as other operational policies and procedures
  • Responsibility for all road shipments aligned to the healthcare client base within your teams’ remit.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual obligations via KPI implementation and management.
  1. Financial / Legal
  • Support contract renewals and renegotiations through lane tenders in the absence of the Planning & Ops Manager.
  • Support procurement activity delivery, i.e. market tenders, benchmarking, and engagement with potential new suppliers.
  • Support Contract by investigating any trading variances.
  • Review and monitor achievement of Yusen budgetary performance
  • Capable of developing clear and up-to-date procedural documentation
  1. Quality
  • Support site and haulier audits and manage any improvement plans identified.
  • Drive standardisation in line with client base principles; create new and streamline/optimise existing processes, drive continuous improvement in specific solutions delivering benefit to the customer.
  • Understand and monitor any security risks across Europe and take the necessary action to safeguard the supply chain
  1. People Management
  • Ensure all company procedures are adhered to, including HR procedures, such as absence and performance management, standards of behaviour, disciplinary, PDR etc, supporting with investigations and disciplinary hearings as necessary.
  • Motivate Operations team to identify cost and service improvement initiatives and deliver in conjunction with in/external resource.
  • Develop, coach and engage staff via one-to-one management within the broader YL PDR programme.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good stakeholder management skills (including interactions with senior management).
  • Flexible approach and ability to prioritise workload
  • Extensive overall logistics management experience, preferably in a 3/4PL pharmaceutical environment
  • Excellent Excel skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.
