Description:

DEMONSTRATED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma / GED and 5+ years of working experience in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or industrial engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience as supervisor or similar position in an automotive industry
  • Understanding and knowledge of planning, shipping, warehouse management and inventory systems
  • Good decision making and negotiation skills
  • Ability to identify and evaluate complex problems and implement solutions
  • Strong administration, organizational, supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and networking skills as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experienced in supply chain management and logistics area
  • Proven SAP experience, especially in logistics and warehousing
  • Expertise in implementation of warehouse and logistics concepts
  • Forklift driving license is an asset
  • Clean and accurate handling of materials
  • Structured method of working
  • Lean Management skills and VSM knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of logistics personnel
  • Oversee supply chain operations as well as internal and external logistics
  • Evaluate, develop and implement a new logistics and warehouse concept
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the organization
  • Plan, organize and execute infrastructural projects
  • Build and maintain relationship with vendors and customers
  • Look for process improvements, implement logistical strategies to meet production and shipping deadlines, manage resources efficiently and develop cost-savings initiatives
  • Supervise supply chain procurement, order fulfillment, warehouse management and inventory management
  • Adapt and improve logistics processes and procedures in SAP by using best practices
  • Track and monitor shipments and deliveries to ensure timely arrival
  • Negotiate contracts with freight carriers and vendors to ensure cost-efficiency and further savings potentials
