LONG TERM MAINTENANCE PROJECT MANAGER

Grade: UKRI Pay Band D/S2
Salary: £41,344 per annum
A great benefits package is offered including an outstanding pension scheme (with an extremely generous employer contribution – on average 27% of your pay), 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Contract Type: Permanent
Full-time – 37 hours a week (some flexible working options may be available, however, significant on-site presence is a requirement of this role)
Location: BGS headquarters in Keyworth in Nottingham

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a forward-thinking projects team within the British Geological Survey (BGS) Estates department.
As the Keyworth Long Term Maintenance Project Manager you will report directly to the Estates Project Manager and play a pivotal part in managing projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving initiatives that align with the organisation’s sustainability and operational goals.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of LTM projects
  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of all assigned projects
  • Manage Condition Survey and Asset Change Process
  • Develop project specifications in consultation with stakeholders
  • Deliver a positive customer experience throughout all project phases
  • Oversee project delivery ensuring good project management and contract adherence is applied
  • Plan and supervise works to minimise disruption to scientific and operational activities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations liaising with internal and external experts as needed
  • Conduct regular physical project audits
  • Produce project reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as required
  • Implement controls including risk management, quality management, financial reporting, and change control in line with departmental processes
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the Estates service and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders
  • Other Estates and Facilities activities as required
  • Oversee daily project management activities, set project controls, design appropriate structures, and apply delivery methodologies
  • Coordinate the development of robust business cases for projects
  • Monitor and track project delivery within allocated budgets
