Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Loss Prevention Associate, under the leadership of the Loss Prevention Manager or senior leadership, will support the Houston Food Bank’s loss prevention efforts to safeguard assets, prevent and minimize theft, and reduce shortages and fraud. This position will be responsible for conducting audits and investigations of employee activity and maintaining reports of observations and incidents.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma from an accredited school or general education development (GED) certificate
- 3+ years’ experience preferably in the manufacturing and/or warehousing industry
- 3 years minimum experience in loss prevention, or security, is preferred
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and documentation.
- Ability to work with a diverse population and general public
- Provide excellent customer service
- Must be able to read and write detailed reports in English
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Flexible, adaptable, and can act quickly with little or no supervision
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Awareness of safety/risk management procedures
- Ability to operate security cameras, download security footage and preserve evidence.
- Experience operating with strict confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
- Ability to safely drive a golf cart, and place and remove safety cones.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to secure and open all property gates and doors in accordance with hours of operations. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
