JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.
Avio Aero is reinforcing the focus to excellence in Low Pressure Turbine modules. In this spirit, we are looking for a talented design engineer expected to become Hardware Owner on Low-Pressure Turbine (LPT) components.
In this role, you will be part of the organization called Production Technologies, that is dedicated to improving the producibility, enhancing the Engineering-Supply chain relationship, and using SQDC (Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost) to dramatically improve the health of the supply chain and product to enable the business to fulfill our customers’ expectations. Also, you will work on a development of a new LPT module following a dedicated NPI process (New Product Introduction).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Good knowledge CAE analysis (Static/Dynamic)
  • Good knowledge of metallic materials both from the structural and manufacturing point of view
  • Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculation
  • Basic knowledge of conventional machining processes
  • Have strong engineering outlook, hands-on engineering foundation and eager to learn
  • Willingness to directly interact with several internal and external customers
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Responsibilities:

  • Build and strengthen technical expertise in aeronautical components.
  • Support component design activities to achieve the objectives of performance, manufacturability, cost, and life.
  • Support Design Reviews in cooperation with chief engineer office.
  • Support management of defects for LPT components, (i.e., how to manage defective components).
  • Proactively support activities with other Company departments (i.e., Supply Chain, Quality, Product Support) and Suppliers to achieve producibility and manufacturability targets.
  • Issue of technical documents (i.e. models, drawings, reports, specifications) relative to the Components design.
  • Support Source Substantiation activities.
  • Support cost-out activities through cross-functional team.
  • Support System Engineer on investigations activities to understand root cause and final fixing of field issues
