LPN – Evening Permanent Position
Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, an 88 bed, long term care facility is looking for a vibrant, knowledgeable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to fill a vacant 0.7EFT Evening position. Functions under the provision of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba.
The LPN administers direct nursing care to an individual or group of residents, applying the nursing process and delegating tasks as necessary to auxiliary nursing staff. Has the authority and responsibility for a designated unit for the length of the shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current active practicing registration with CLPNM
- At least 3 years experience or more
- Experience in geriatrics preferred.
- Supervisory experience an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, implements, documents, and evaluates the care of residents as a member of the interdisciplinary team and following best practices.
- Prepares and utilizes nursing care plans on each resident, ensuring they are accurate, complete and current.
- Prepares and maintains the clinical record.
- Communicates and refers with attending physicians, relaying pertinent information and assisting with examinations and procedures as required. Rounds as per schedule.
- Carries out physicians’ orders and nursing procedures, according to the standards and policies of the Home and the Standards of Practice outlined by CLPNM and the Manitoba Health Standards for Personal Care Homes
- Supervises the care given to the residents by auxiliary staff.
- Administers medications as ordered by attending physicians.
- Assists the Assistant Director of Care in evaluation of work performance of subordinate staff members.
- Communicates with families regarding condition of residents, their needs and problems.
Informs the Assistant Director of Care/CRN of problems on the nursing unit
Attends mandatory in-services, seminars, courses etc. as required and determined by Management, including but not limited to:Orientation
