QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Graduated from an accredited program of Practical Nursing,
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
- Night Shift, 36 hours per week
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Administers medication per policy,
- Assists as directed with PI activities including data collection,
- Demonstrates competency in Blood Glucose Monitoring,
- Demonstrates competency in Pain Management by recording the patient s pain intensity, implementing interventions based on the plan of care and providing patient / family education,
- Demonstrates competency in pain management by recording the patient s pain intensity, implementing interventions based on the plan of care, providing patient/family education and reporting to the RN patient outcomes,
- Demonstrates competency in Restraint Management and application,
- Demonstrates management of patient receiving moderate sedation to facilitate a procedure,
- Document all patient observations according to Department policy,
- Ensures a safe environment in aspects of care, equipment and treatment,
- Ensures discharge plan is complete at time of discharge with the RN,
- Gathers information, vital signs for assigned patients and communicates to appropriate RN,
- Identifies and reports potential and actual patient safety issues,
- Integrates psychosocial, physical, nutritional and rehabilitation needs of the patient in patient care and discharge planning,
- Integrates the nursing process utilizing a multidisciplinary approach in the delivery of patient care,
- Maintains the standards of nursing practice and implements the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and Nursing Department,
- Manages the care of the pre-operative/pre-procedural patient according to hospital policies and standards of care,
- Participates in acuity classification on all patients according to facility policy,
- Participates in patient education
- Proficient in the use of all CMC documentation tools, restraints, nursing notes, procedure and graphic tool,
- Renders patient care based upon RN s assessment/reassessment within specified time frames,
- Reviews care plan and discharge plan, communicates changes to appropriate RN,
- Utilizes clinical information systems and documents in nursing progress
- Utilizes clinical information systems and documents in nursing progress notes per established policies,
