Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lymphoedema practitioner to work within Powys Teaching Health Board. We are looking for a nurse or therapist with a passion for the delivery evidence-based care for our patients.
The successful candidate should be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team and have excellent communication skills as well as the physical skills, effort and manual dexterity required to carry out all aspects of Lymphoedema management. You must be innovative, forward thinking, self-driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have excellent standards of patient care and documentation.
This service seeks a positive team player with excellent abilities to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
The poster holder will improve clinical outcomes through effective use of resources, education, and training in aspects of Lymphoedema specialist care, and assessment and review of current treatments. You will work closely with the wider MDT, utilising highly specialised clinical knowledge and skills to support the effective management of patients with or at risk of developing chronic Lymphoedema.
The ability to deliver clinics at multiple sites across Powys is essential in this role.
Demonstrate commitment to research-based practice, ensuring the standard of clinical practice within the team is maintained at a high level.
Support the Lymphoedema service in providing an evidence based lymphoedema service for the patients of Powys Teaching Health Board. This will include providing assessment and appropriate management strategies including Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, maintenance treatments, education and support for patients developing lymphoedema. The service offers treatment to all lymphoedema patients regardless of cause.
Work closely with other members of the Lymphoedema Service under the Team leader to proactively improve patient’s knowledge on preventing lymphoedema through group sessions.
Participate in education courses and patient support groups will be an integral part of this role as well involvement in research, audit and evaluation.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
