  • Experience in a high-volume retail environment preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities:

ROLE INTRODUCTION:

Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US in both large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations. The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 16,000 people.
Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and to support this ambitious growth, we are seeking to onboard an M&S Operations Executive who will be responsible for the working alongside all departments and M&S to ensure we Operate our stores to the highest standards and support in the continued roll out of store openings. This role will form part of the M&S Commercial team and reports to the M&S Operations Manager. It is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to excel. The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can fit into Applegreen seamlessly and adopt a hands-on approach to their role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Applegreen expands, the responsibilities will evolve and change over time. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas:

  • Supporting the M&S Operations Manager in the opening of new M&S food stores within Applegreen.
  • Support in planning and activating new M&S store openings.
  • Work closely with our DC and sites on supply of M&S products and following up on any issues with deliveries.
  • Support training and compliance of brand standards to ensure customers are receiving the best possible experience.
  • Work with the stores and the waste management companies such as Too good to go and Olio to ensure they are being utilised to the full extend.
  • Work with stores and home delivery aggregators in setting up home delivery and monitoring its performance.
  • Monitor the Service level agreements weekly to ensure this is being achieved as agreed.
  • Ensure that margins are being controlled and achieved.
  • Identify areas contributing to higher levels of waste than acceptable and look at ways to address this with the stores, M&S and the DC.
  • Monitor weekly waste levels and put in place action plans to rectify where they are not achieving budgeted levels.
  • Reporting weekly on sales performance, identifying gaps and opportunities for growth.
  • Market analysis and monitoring trends to ensure the product and price points are in line with the market.
  • Review of product ranges to ensure we are carrying the best lines and working with the ops teams and trading in planning for new products to be ranged and set up.
  • Along with the Finance team ensure all contractual agreements are being followed through on credits, rebates and promotional activities.
  • Work with our Marketing department and stores to ensure that all marketing activities are being implemented at store level.
