Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The Machine Build Technician plays a key part in producing Mergon’s high-quality automation equipment for our manufacturing plants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of our engineering project team. In this role, you will work with advanced automation technologies, including robotics, vision systems, drives, and control systems. You will be directly involved in the mechanical and electrical assembly and debugging of sophisticated machines, making a substantial contribution to Mergon’s ongoing success.
As a Machine Build Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machines are assembled to agreed standards, aligning with design specifications and quality criteria. You will work closely with the design and project teams to address and resolve any issues that arise during the build process and drive continuous improvements in our machine build operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble and debug automation machines according to mechanical and electrical drawings, ensuring high quality and precision.
- Work closely with the design team to ensure machines are built according to design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues that arise during the build process.
- Maintain clear communication and coordination with all project team members to ensure timely and effective project completion.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of machine build processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
- Education: Qualified Electrician, Fitter, Toolmaker or qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering). Also may be suitable for someone without third level qualification but hands on experience in mechanical repair or manufacturing
- Experience: Ideally some experience in a similar role, preferably in machine building or automation equipment assembly.
