WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
We are looking for someone who has strong experience and knowledge of product management, skills ideally in a digital/systems capacity as well as excellent stakeholder engagement and management. You’ll also have;
- Experience taking products from idea generation through to product launch and ongoing maintenance.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills to be able to commercially assess the value of opportunities within the pipeline.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Relevant Product Management certifications (desirable).
- Project Management experience or qualifications (desirable).
- Sound understanding of data science and machine learning principles (desirable).
- Prior experience of business analysis to help provide clarity on requirements to the delivery team and champion both the business owner and the end user throughout delivery (desirable).
- Motivation to continuously learn and develop in the field of machine learning, analysis, organisational development, culture change, IT-enabled change, business process analysis, change impact assessment, coaching and/or mentoring; training development and delivery.

Responsibilities:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Business Transformation team as a Machine Learning Product Manager on a fixed term basis. As our Machine Learning Product Manager, you will support LNER’s vision to treat data across the business as an asset and an opportunity to achieve competitive advantage. This role is data-driven and is focused on enabling our machine learning journey to maximise predictive analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver measurable business results. This will be achieved by supporting the following:
- Developing and implementing a prioritised roadmap of opportunities for use of machine learning and data science techniques to deliver business value.
- Product managing the opportunities from ideation to proof of concept to production, ensuring we scale or fails fast and the continued success of deployed work.
- Project managing proof of concepts; working in a ‘scrum’ team with our in-house development team (Data Scientists and Engineers), the Product Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of a project to requirements.
- Acting as a subject matter expert when working with business owners; a core part of the role will be helping the business to understand how machine learning solutions could benefit them.
