Machine Learning Research Developer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc. is looking for a software R&D engineer/scientist in the field of medical image processing and machine learning (ML). The ideal candidate is passionate about pursuing new ideas, is strong at solving complex problems, and has a willingness to challenge the status quo to create remarkable solutions. The successful candidate will be highly organized, results-driven, team-oriented, and effective at presenting intricate ideas and concepts to others.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Strong theoretical knowledge, including mathematical foundations and evaluation methods of modern ML systems and techniques
• Strong programming skills in Python, and TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience with Linux and Windows command line interface
• Experience with high dimensional images and geometric data
• Experience with C++ programming
• Ability to communicate ideas with people in various roles

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Experience with DICOM images (MR and CT) considered an asset
• Peer-reviewed publications in top-tier ML or medical image analysis conferences/journals considered an asset
• Experience with version control tools and Agile development considered an asset
• Experience with QT, OpenGL, and OpenCV considered an asset
• Experience in the medical imaging software industry considered an asset

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• MSc or PhD in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced ML-based image processing algorithms
• Work closely with a team of software developers to design and develop medical image post-processing software
• Work closely with regulatory and quality assurance engineers to develop quality software
• Work closely with scientific advisors and physicians to develop algorithms that solve clinical problems
