Tempus is seeking a highly qualified advanced-degree Machine Learning Summer Associate, Applied AI & Research, to work with us for the summer of 2025. We are looking for people who can change the world.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. (advanced degree graduation between winter of 2025 and summer of 2026) in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field.
- A strong academic background with relevant coursework in machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, algorithms, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries, and familiarity with common tools for data processing and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a variety of settings and media.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with others in a fast-paced environment is critical. Be ready to fly the plane as you’re still building it!
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior machine learning scientists to develop, implement, and test machine learning models for NLP/Gen AI applications.
- Analyze large clinical datasets and apply ML techniques to extract meaningful insights. Participate in the creation of pipelines for data processing, model training, and evaluation.
- Assist in the development of algorithms and tools that contribute to clinical data understanding, clinical trials, and research.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including ML scientists, products, and engineers, to translate research into practical solutions.
