Description:

We are currently looking for a dedicated Machine Operator to work on the Mt Messenger project in the great Taranaki! This role involves operating and maintaining heavy machinery to support various aspects of the project, ensuring smooth and efficient operations while adhering to all safety and quality standards.

You will ideally have experience operating machinery within the civil construction industry. You will also take pride in your work, be a solid team player and like to have a good laugh! We’d really value:

  • A Full Class 1 drivers licence with W, T, R endorsements is required
  • Practical work experience in machine operation i.e. compactors, rollers, small tracked trucks and large project experience would be highly regarded
  • Strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and problem solve
  • Great communication skills with the confidence to speak up
  • A high level of physical fitness with the ability to carry out manual tasksExcellent team player but also be able to work well on your own

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery including compactors, rollers, small tracked truck etc.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform minor repairs to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless integration of machine operations with other project activities.
  • High flexible and adaptable as there will be requirements to work long hours through the earth works season
    This is a full time fixed term opportunity with up to 4 years of work ahead on this exciting project!
