Job Description
Join our team as a Machine Operator on our sub-assembly line, where you’ll be responsible for operating machinery to cut and bend sheet steel or aluminium into designed shapes prior to assembly in the manufacture of air conditioners. Have your pick of either our dayshift (6:45am - 3:15pm) or afternoon (3:15pm - 11:15pm).
Reporting to the Sub-Assembly Line Foreman, this busy, hands-on role includes the following tasks:
- Set up and monitor machines according to guidelines
- Make necessary adjustments and recover from breakdowns
- Perform regular TPM as required
- Select jobs and identify drawings, cross-checking with programs
- Form work queues and load raw materials using a forklift
- Transport finished products to the next operation using a forklift or hoist
- Measure dimensions, angles, and rotations, making adjustments as needed
- Change tooling and identify correct drawings
- Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
- Report and resolve safety issues, contributing to improved practices
Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills:
- Proficient in operating machinery for cutting and bending sheet steel or aluminium
- Computer literate, with the ability to program machines
- Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and dimensions
- Strong knowledge of safe work practices
- Reliable team player with excellent attendance
