Description:

We offer you a unique opportunity to become one of the pioneers at our battery gigafactory in Germany, offering a head-start to boost your battery career in Sweden during the initial phase of your employment with us. Through our 12-18 months Battery Excellence program you will have the chance to delve into various aspects of the battery manufacturing process in Sweden and ultimately emerge as one of the first engineers at our Heide facility.
As a dedicated Machine Vision Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing vision solutions for our Gigafactory Northvolt Drei in Heide, located in the northern part of Germany. By joining our team, you will be tasked with defining, launching, and continually enhancing highly specialized battery manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define machine vision requirements, select appropriate hardware and software, and design robust solutions for production lines.
  • Install, configure, and calibrate vision systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing equipment and our in-house Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance, accuracy, and reliability under real-world manufacturing conditions.
  • Analyze production data and system performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and implement enhancements.
  • Provide ongoing support for deployed machine vision systems, troubleshooting issues and ensuring optimal operation.

    Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a machine vision engineer, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise with leading vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Teledyne, etc.)
  • Familiarity with image processing algorithms, camera calibration, and optical principles.
  • Understand rollout procedures to an automotive-grade production line with procedures such as Calibration and MSA
  • Understanding of communication protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, TCP/IP)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, coupled with strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
