Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Conventional Machinist to join our team in Calgary. The ideal candidate will have experience in conventional machining and repairs, as well as a strong background in machining complex parts. The Machinist will play a crucial role in ensuring the precision and quality of our products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferably Certified Red Seal Machinist or technical certification in machining or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a conventional machinist
  • Operating and programming CNC machines (lathes and mills) will be considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, techniques, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and program machines, including lathes and mills, to produce high-precision parts.
  • Review technical drawings and specifications to determine machining operations required.
  • Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment to ensure proper alignment and operation.
  • Inspect and measure finished products using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
  • Mentor and train junior machinists, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Document and report any issues or discrepancies in the machining process.
