Description:
Garda Capital Partners (Garda) is a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm with over 21 years of experience deploying relative value strategies across fixed income markets for institutional investors. Garda has offices in Wayzata, New York City, West Palm Beach, Geneva, Zug, Copenhagen, Singapore, and Scottsdale.
Garda is looking to hire a Macroeconomic Analyst to join the Rates trading team in Zug. The candidate will be supporting portfolio managers by analyzing opportunities, maximizing conviction and modeling findings for future use.
QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED SKILLS
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in an applied economist or rates/macro strategy role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in economics, econometrics, statistics, finance, financial engineering, applied math, computer science, or similar quantitative or technical discipline
- Intellectual curiosity and motivation to innovate and improve, particularly relating to macroeconomics
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Specific work experience with the US & European economies and interest rate markets are a plus

Responsibilities:
- Generate high conviction views on macro markets by identifying and analyzing key developments across global economies and markets
- Support the macro trading team with economic research and market analysis
- Improve macro risk taking around economic cycles and specific data releases by producing data driven analytics
- Support the team’s research process, including model building, data collection and analysis, prototyping, back testing, and performance monitoring
- Evaluate sell side research for useful, repeatable insights
