Description:

We are seeking an experienced Magento Development Consultant to provide expert guidance and technical consultation on our Magento-based eCommerce projects. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the Magento 2 ecosystem, including custom module development, theme customization, performance optimization, and integration of third-party services. This role requires a strong technical background in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and Magento best practices. The consultant will collaborate closely with our development team, offering insights and solutions to complex challenges while ensuring our eCommerce solutions align with business objectives. The consultant is expected to provide strategic recommendations, conduct technical assessments, and assist in overcoming development hurdles to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient Magento solutions. This position will be advisory in nature, focusing on offering technical expertise without direct involvement in hands-on coding tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Magento consultant with expertise in Magento 2 (including Enterprise Edition).
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Extensive knowledge of Magento themes, extensions, and customization techniques.
  • Familiarity with Magento REST and GraphQL APIs for integration with external systems.
  • Experience with performance tuning, caching strategies, and database optimization.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce best practices, SEO strategies, and UX/UI considerations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Magento certification(s) is a plus.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with cloud hosting solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of omnichannel commerce and multi-store configurations in Magento.

Non-Technical Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule can be discussed once on-boarded and working more independently.
  • Must be located in Canada, and be fluent in English.
  • Clear and prompt communication (response time max < 24hrs during work week)
