  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of court procedures; exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, diplomacy and competence in dealing with magistrates, judges, the public and professional personnel. Must have a thorough knowledge of legal terminology and procedures and be proficient with word processing software. Excellent proof reading and typing skills are required.

Responsibilities:

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

The Office Administrator assists the Family Division Magistrates in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. This position supports the magistrates and ensures that efficient operations and procedures are implemented and followed in the Family Division. Must exercise a high degree of independence and discretion.Essential Job Duties

  • Acts as an assistant to Family Division Magistrates. Responsible for typing orders and judgments, reports and recommendations of findings, letters, memoranda, and other documents as directed.
  • Coordinates with other court personnel to implement policies and schedule hearings, using the Odyssey case management system.
  • Receives and reviews all incoming correspondence and handles inquiries and requests directed to the magistrates. Assists magistrates with the handling and processing of guardianship cases and other duties as assigned.

  • Performs other related duties as required.
