ABOUT YOU:

We’re seeking a motivated and hardworking individual who understands the value of the machinery they are tasked with maintaining and the importance of their role in the overall sawmilling operation. A degree of flexibility will be required to ensure operations are maximised, maintained and quality targets are met with minimum wastage. In addition, you will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An appreciation of quality and Health & Safety.
  • Willingness to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, or similar production environment, would be advantageous.
  • Ideally, successful candidates will hold a Full Drivers Licence, however this is not essential.

Responsibilities:

SPECIFICALLY, SOME RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT MAY INCLUDE:

  • All aspects of scheduled lubrication on various types of machinery throughout the production lines and across the mill.
  • Lubricating moving part of heavy equipment throughout the mill.
  • Changing oil in machine reservoirs; Cleaning and replacing oil filters.
  • Ensuring swift clean-up of any hazards including sawdust, oil spills, etc.
  • Ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to and kept up to date.
  • Upholding the appropriate Health & Safety practices.
