Description:
POSITION SUMMARY…
Primarily responsible of the operation and monitoring of ammonia systems and auxiliary equipment. Other job duties can be categorized as facility maintenance and may include up to 50 % of the job.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold either an Operating engineer 3rd Class or Refrigeration Class B ticket in good standing with the T.S.S.A.
- Practical knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating and cooling systems
- Strong knowledge and experience maintaining and trouble-shooting Ammonia refrigeration equipment.
- Experience working with SOPs/GMPs is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain/monitor/test/log all utility readings and deviations from/for all refrigeration equipment, meters, lines, tanks etc. while adhering to TSSA standards.
- Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations.
- Interacting with all necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective and/or legal requirements.
- Perform routine preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities on the equipment.
- Maintain/complete all necessary adjustments/parameters and tests on equipment’s.
- Complete logbooks, work orders and apply corrective actions in a timely manner utilizing the computerized maintenance management system.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring the plant and engine room are operating in accordance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (T.S.S.A.).
- Ensure all work performed complies with governing practices, codes and regulations, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP. WHIMS, MSDS and Walmart policy requirements.
