We are looking for Maintenace Automation Technician to join our Mercury Plant in Dudelange.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop your skills on preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, including mechanical, electrical maintenance and maintenance of industrial automation systems (PLCs)

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Automation technician to join our team at Goodyear Mercury Plant. The automation technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment and machinery to uphold our commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as an Automation or a similar role, with hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated systems.
  • Solid knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces, SCADA), and other automation control systems.
  • Programming skills: Rockwell, Siemens or similar
  • Familiarity with industrial robotics and their programming languages is an asset.
  • Data and configuration management skills.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical systems, components, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills - combined with the capability to lead and coach co-workers, as well as with required outside companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the engineering and production teams to understand automation requirements and objectives.
  • Programming, configuring, and troubleshooting automated machinery and control systems.
  • Conducting automation and electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance in compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
  • Assisting in the integration of new automation technologies into existing production processes.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Drive to zero equipment breakdown by setting a high-quality standard of preventative maintenance.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance systems reliability.
  • Participate in spare parts management.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
