Strategic Group is looking for a diligent and highly motivated Building Technician to maintain building operations and client relationships. Responsibilities include equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, overseeing staff and subcontractors, and responding to service requests. The role requires a 5th Class Power Engineers Certificate, two years of experience, strong knowledge of building systems, leadership skills, and a valid Driver’s License.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform equipment inspections, mechanical system checks, and regular building surveillance tours.
- Ensure the site remains clean and aesthetically pleasing.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks in line with Strategic’s standards.
- Oversee maintenance staff and subcontractors during their onsite activities.
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergencies.
- Complete accurate and detailed documentation regularly.
- Adhere to Quality Management System policies and actively participate in processes to ensure intended outputs.
- Interact and establish good relationships with client contacts.
Maintenance Skills
- Proficient in drywall repair and preparation.
- Experienced in interior painting and drywall.
- Possess basic plumbing and electrical skills.
- Capable of installing and repairing appliances.
- Able to perform tasks such as snow removal, parkade cleanup, garbage removal, and moving and lifting appliances and similar items.
Building Operation Skills
- Experience in HVAC and Building Automation Systems is preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and closed-loop systems (hot water, glycol, cooling water).
- Familiarity with fire protection systems.
- Understanding of emergency generator operations.
Experience & Qualifications
- Valid 5th Class Power Engineers Certificate.
- Minimum of two years of hands-on building operations experience.
- Experience with both commercial and residential buildings.
- strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to be on call and work after hours.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
