SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be an Australian Citizen, eligible for a Baseline Security Clearance
  • Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or similar)
  • Have well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Understand the role of data in maintenance planning and execution
  • Problem solving and independent decision making
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Be outcome-driven, well organised and self-motivated
  • Possess experience in a maintenance engineering, planning or management role within maritime shipbuilding, sustainment and/or defence programs
  • Experience in developing Land Systems Electrical Mechanical Engineering Instructions (EMEI) is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the relevant maintenance tasks considering the system/equipment functional requirements, mission profiles and task characteristics through analysis such as Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and/or Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM).
  • Analyse maintenance resource packages by undertaking resource evaluations and trade-offs to determine the optimum location, personnel, and resource requirements to perform each task, and applying engineering judgement to modify tasks to enhance vessel availability and reduce life-cycle costs.
  • Document maintenance procedures, complying with all relevant safety standards, and based on authorised technical data such as to be clear and unambiguous for maintainers to follow.
  • Conduct maintenance investigations to identify deficiencies in existing maintenance and/or to optimise asset reliability and maintainability
