QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous work experience and a proven track record of leadership success in a similar role, particularly in a unionized, heavy industrialized environment;
  • The candidate should, at a minimum, hold a BCTQ or IP ticket as a millwright;
  • Experience maintaining mobile and fixed plant equipment, including bulk handling equipment, is considered an asset;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and a demonstrated aptitude for working with other business-related computer programs and applications;
  • Ability to motivate and lead others in a safe, efficient and respectful manner;
  • Conscientious and demonstrate a strong willingness to take on responsibility;
  • Communicate with assertiveness and confidence, and establish productive relationships with both peers and managers;
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous leadership development, maintain a focus on achieving results, and possess the ability to drive change with an inclusive and growth-oriented mindset;
  • Ability to accommodate shift work, being flexible to work any of the three shifts each day; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of longshore workers;
  • Ensure all maintenance and operations support duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
  • Provide support and appropriate feedback on performance management of employees;
  • Finalize and update documentation related to maintenance and safety;
  • Ensure all work is completed within Pembina Maintenance Management (PMM) guidelines;
  • Provide leadership and assistance during emergency response when required; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
