QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Valid journeyman millwright or electrician certificate or recognized interprovincial equivalent.
- Minimum two years’ experience performing repairs in a manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing experience preferred.s
- Computer, organizational, and leadership skills required.
- Experience with mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, machining, and power/manual tools are required.
- Attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
- 5th Class Power Engineer certification is an asset.
- Experience in food production is an asset.
New wage rate: $47.84 / hour + Shift Premium, Benefits, Company-Matched Pension, Sick Days, Personal days, annual increases and more.
Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM / 3:00 PM start, plus daily overtime and Saturday overtime as needed

Responsibilities:
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Working Foreman is responsible for communicating daily/weekly direction to the maintenance team to ensure that priorities are understood and that proper resources are deployed with the intention of “Preventing Downtime”. The Working Foreman is a leadership position that assists with the organization, supervision, and training of the maintenance employees. Position works in a fast paced production environment.
DUTIES
- Accountable to ensure a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors.
- Accountable to streamline and monitor the maintenance process.
- Communicate with, monitor and assist maintenance staff, in the completion of maintenance repairs, work orders and preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate maintenance needs with the production needs, based on equipment availability.
- Ensure the effective functioning of all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and systems within the facility.
- Coordinate the completion of work orders and preventative maintenance.
- Review and/or complete documentation/records to ensure accuracy and completion for Quality Assurance and regulatory bodies as required.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting potential food safety issues.
- Assists maintenance staff with identifying and requesting proper parts to complete repairs and maintenance in a timely manner.
- Assists MP2 Coordinator to ensure accurate and sufficient parts inventory.
- Accountable for the effective supervision of department staff, including but not limited to;
- Train and coach employees on the repair and maintenance of production equipment and the facility.
- Ensure employees are adhering to company GMP’s, proper food safety, and company Health and Safety policies.
- Accountable to adhere to and utilize Company policies and procedures, and HACCP regulations.
- Responsible to conduct safety observations and facilitate meetings as required.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned, including maintenance mechanic and journeymen duties.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager in their absence when needed
