QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have painting and drywall experience.
- Experience in hotel or related trade preferred.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours sometimes required.
- High school diploma required.
- Working knowledge of all legal issues in compliance with NSOHSA.
- Training in other trades would be helpful – i.e. carpentry, HVAC, etc.
Responsibilities:
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
- Make basic repairs to air conditioners – change filters, clean coils, replace blower motors, etc.
- Must be able to work and manage the mechanical, guest room, public space, and PM programs.
- Take chiller readings and water samples
- Replace TVs and cable boxes, program boxes
- Repair/replace tile, grouting, and caulking.
- Repair drapes and rods; replace hooks, cords, and slides.
- Install towel racks, toilet paper holders, shower curtain rods, and door stops.
- Replace light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs.
- Perform basic furniture repairs and hang pictures.
- Maintain pool and spa – clean, vacuum, adjust chemical levels, change valves, and replace filters. Maintain records of chemical balances and clean pool pump room; Handle dangerous chemicals safely
- Perform plumbing repairs – open clogged drains, change FET washers, stems seats, cartridges, handles, drain fittings, etc.
- Replace lavatories and toilets.
- Must be able to work and manage the mechanical, guest room, public space and PM programs.
- Painting and drywall repair/finish as well as basic wall covering repairs
- Manage and maintain grounds and light program
- Maintain legal documents and records (ex. logs, pool chemical balances)
- Other duties as required.
In the role of Engineering Maintenance, you will
- Be A Go To Person - perform or assist with routine property maintenance and repair, including but not limited to painting, grouting, hanging curtain rods, moving furniture, etc. and basic equipment repair, as well as various other work assigned to you. You and your team support the mission of a safe, secure and comfortable guest environment.
- Be Ready to Help - you never know when an issue will arise, so you are always prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency that might arise during your shift.
- Be a Team Player - you and your coworkers will often be asked to assist when other departments have a need - and you are happy to do so when asked.
- Be a Safety & Security Agent - follow your hotel’s established safety and security policies & procedures. Anticipate problems and call management as needed
