As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team at our state-of-the-art greenhouse facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the agricultural, food or pharma manufacturing sector.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering is considered an asset.
  • Strong background in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with OHS regulations, WHMIS, and other relevant safety standards.
  • Experience using CMMS (MaintainX) and MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with technicians, production staff, and management.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and on-call shifts as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Maintenance Team, scheduling and conducting preventative maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation and repair of all equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance operations and efficiency, providing recommendations accordingly.
  • Improve and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Plan, estimate, and assign work orders. Evaluate the effectiveness of repairs and ensure efficient labour force utilization and maintenance regimes and repairs.
  • Review and update written maintenance instructions and schedules.
  • Coordinate with planning personnel for timely ordering, organization, and stocking of required parts.
  • Supervise the safe and efficient operation of all utilities and equipment used in product production, packaging, handling, storage, and shipment.
  • Coordinate with internal and external contractors to ensure safe compliance with manufacturing codes, regulations, and standards (H&S, GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS).
  • Assist senior management in establishing and implementing operating and capital budgets, ensuring maintenance within budget parameters.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance team and other departments to implement cost-savings measures.
  • Drive accountability for results and actions of direct reports through education, motivation, documentation, and behavior-based coaching.
  • Uphold Safety and Quality responsibilities as per SOPs and provided training materials, maintaining accurate record keeping.
  • Advise workers and management of any potential or actual hazards.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Provide guidance and training as needed.
  • Manage outside contractors as necessary.
  • Weekly and monthly KPI reporting to senior management.
  • Coordinate with planning/production managers and supervisors to schedule maintenance repair work during downtime to minimize production disruptions.
  • Measure the efficiency of work orders by estimated hours vs. actual hours.
  • Work with scheduling and planning personnel to improve CMMS capability through accurate data collection, reporting, analysis tools, and preventative measures.
  • Analyze and determine equipment failures for root causes and recommend solutions. Use CMMS as a tool to improve equipment reliability and identify previous equipment failures and repairs.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the smooth operation and objectives of the organization.
