Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Harbour Hotel, Galway (96-bedroom hotel, part of the MHL Hotel Collection)
Reports to: General Manager
Are you a proactive, hands-on leader with a passion for maintaining high standards? The Harbour Hotel Galway, part of the prestigious MHL Hotel Collection, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage the facilities of a 96-bedroom hotel, ensuring the smooth operation of all services and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the hotel’s facilities, ensuring all systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, etc.) are fully operational and maintained to the highest standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire precautions, hygiene, and water quality.
- Manage all service contracts for areas such as building repairs, fire protection, energy supplies, and grounds maintenance.
- Supervise planned preventative maintenance and address emergency maintenance issues promptly.
- Act as the Fire Marshal while on duty, ensuring familiarity with emergency procedures.
- Control maintenance budgets, monitor energy consumption, and develop energy-saving initiatives.
- Lead and train the facilities and engineering team, promoting a strong working environment.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure minimal disruption to hotel operations and guest comfort.
- Assist in recruitment, training, and performance management of the maintenance team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a hotel or large property.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage contractors and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
