Montcalm Marble Arch is looking for a friendly & welcoming candidate to join our fantastic team as a Maintenance Manager. You’ll need to love working with people and be passionate about preserving our planet for future generations.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
- Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and external vendors.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ensure all maintenance requests and issues are addressed promptly and effectively to minimize guest disruption and maintain high service standards.
- Collaborate with the front desk and housekeeping teams to promptly address and resolve any maintenance issues reported by guests.
- Uphold the hotel’s luxury brand standards in all maintenance activities, ensuring the property’s appearance and functionality exceed guest expectations.
- Maintain the mechanical and electrical services, architectural content and decorative finishes to the existing high standards.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the property’s equipment and facilities are well-maintained and in optimal working condition.
- Leading and managing maintenance teams as well as external contractors to enable safe, efficient and effective.
- Monitor and control maintenance expenses, including labour, materials, and contracted services.
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts, ensuring the availability of critical items.
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Ensure that the team adheres to all hotel policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
- Ensure the property complies with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building safety, fire codes, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with external inspectors and service providers to ensure all certifications and inspections are up to date.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance projects, expenses, and any issues that arise.
- Implement and monitor energy conservation initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
- Analyse energy consumption patterns and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency without compromising guest comfort.
- Leads the emergency response team along with the General Manager during crisis.
