Description:
The Mechanic Assistant maintains the facility and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by your supervisor, to assure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times. The Maintenance Assistant repairs various electrical equipment, performs basic plumbing repairs, maintains required maintenance records and information, attends meetings, and participates on committees in an effort to promote the prudent operation of the facility.
- Preventative Maintenance & Repair
- Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
- Maintain general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment. Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
- Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc.
- Ensure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience. Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible. Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
- Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed or as necessary.
- Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties wherever necessary.
- Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer or in accordance with the service contract.
- Productivity
- Repairs or replaces television sets, nurse call systems, and other electrical equipment as requested in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintains all required records and information pertinent to maintenance and repair costs with special attention given to the accuracy and details of reported information.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
