We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in various maintenance tasks.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
• Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product
• Regulate machine flow or speed
• Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Supervisor
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material
• Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides
• Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn’t sticking properly
• Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines as the schedule requires
• Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders;
• Train Packaging Equipment Operators
• Assist with production on lines as required
• Able to source & order parts through online maintenance program
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 2-4 years experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging (i.e. shrink wrapping, overwrapping and cartoning)
• Prior Food Manufacturing Industry experience
• Mechanically inclined
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems
• Prior experience Troubleshooting and Repairing packaging machines
• Engineering/Technical Education background
• Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset
• Electrical experience is an asset
• Well versed with Microsoft Office Suite
  Shift: Monday – Friday, Afternoon Shift – 3:30PM – 11:30PM
  Pay:$24/hr.
  Job Type: Full-time
  Pay: $24.00 per hour

• Maintenance on Bagger: 2 years (required)
• Maintenance Technician/Mechanic: 2 years (required)
• Food Manufacturing Industry: 2 years (required)
• Vertical Form & Fill Machine: 1 year (required)
• PLC: 1 year (preferred)
• Glue Pots and Cartoners: 1 year (preferred)
• Weigh Scale Filling Systems: 1 year (preferred)
