Maintenance

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 422 A Red Seal License - Required.
  • Minimum of 5 years machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant required.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, a team player, able to multi-task and meet required deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with an innovative approach to solving mechanical problems.
  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge.

  • Design, fabrication, and commissioning of automated equipment.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

To ensure the continuous operation of all plant equipment and machinery. This person will also be responsible for all the mechanical maintenance of production machinery and equipment in the facility which will include installing, repairing, and troubleshooting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all Health and Safety regulations in all steps, and especially in the lockout/tagout of equipment.
  • Ensure all machines and equipment are in safe working condition, taking appropriate precautions to prevent risk to employees and to the product.
  • Work in accordance with GMP, documentation control.
  • Repair, overhaul and perform preventative maintenance on process, packaging and auxiliary equipment such as fillers, cartoners, and automated equipment.
  • Fabricate parts, as necessary, utilizing shop equipment, including ability to weld and use lathe.
  • Maintain proper maintenance records and documentation, including production & maintenance reporting systems in a timely manner.
  • Work closely and proactively with maintenance coordinator to ensure the usage of spare parts and materials is tracked and inventory is maintained.
  • May be required to inspect and oversee, or work with outside Contractors for equipment installations, may lead or direct the work of others as a project leader.
  • Use drawings or existing parts to fabricate & repair equipment parts.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Support the commissioning and start-up of new and existing equipment.
  • Working in collaboration with production, quality, safety, engineering, maintenance teams to ensure production KPI’s are met.
  • Provide technical guidance on machine set ups, including documentation (WI and SOPs).
  • Train operators and participate in the Autonomous Maintenance teams.
  • Work closely with other teams, TRG, Eng, Ops on pilots, launches, new and improvement projects.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and work with team to apply them.
  • Identify and apply 5S, breakdown analysis & continuous improvements standards to meet maintenance KPI’s.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
