Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Officers at Activ, report to the Senior Property Officer and are responsible for attending and scheduling daily visits to perform general and emergency maintenance tasks across all Activ facilities.
Working in a close knit team this position is based in the Perth South Metro area and is a based on 5 month contract to cover long service leave.
A TYPICAL DAY IN THE ROLE MAY LOOK LIKE……
- Performing routine and scheduled maintenance of including but not limited to painting, carpentry, plumbing and reticulation;
- Responding to emergency calls;
- In conjunction with the Property Manager, scheduling maintenance works in order of priority using the maintenance software system and completing work in a timely manner;
- Assist in any process changes providing feedback on the change;
- Assisting with the supervision of external contractors and/or checking the progress and quality of works;
- Reporting any issues with the above to the Manager;
- Keeping track of receipts and assisting with the reconciliation by attaching to work orders;
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order; and
- Assisting in the purchase, repair and disposal of materials and equipment in accordance with audit requirements.
The ideal candidate will have :-
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the building trade, ideally plumbing, reticulation and carpentry work OR management of a building maintenance company
- Demonstrated experience carrying out scheduled maintenance tasks and following a maintenance roster
- Highly developed skills using power and manual tools to complete maintenance tasks
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills including word processing and alphanumeric data entry
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work
- Current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence
