Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Commercial & Property Service. The successful candidate will be a member of the Built Asset Team which is responsible for Asset Management and Facilities Management of the council building portfolio.
The purpose of the post is to assist the Facilities Manager in delivering a Reactive and Statutory maintenance service for the council’s corporate, public and commercial properties.
Job Description
- Assess building repair requests and action appropriate work orders that demonstrate value for money.
- Assist the Facilities Manager on all aspects of planned and reactive works relating to the Services property portfolio.
- Implement and monitor planned programmes of work to ensure that all properties are fit for service delivery and meet the required Health & Safety Standards
- Provide instruction to both a team of maintenance operatives and the procurement and management of contractors and suppliers for responsive and planned maintenance.
- Providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues on building maintenance issues.
- Collaborate with team colleagues to ensure business continuity across building, electrical and mechanical services.
- Attend various premises for quality inspections prior to and after contractors have completed planned and reactive works to ensure repairs, maintenance and defects have been completed to the required standards.
- Attend in-house and external training courses as required.
As a minimum, candidates are required to be PC literature and have experience of a Repair Management system, knowledge of industry best practice and Health & Safety legislations.
Required to have a recognised Building Construction Qualification and be NEBOSH or IOSH trained.
The successfully candidate will be required to adopt the council’s values. Have the knowledge and confidence to take responsibility for the operational planning and delivery of a wide ranging of activities independently.
As the post holder will be required to visit buildings across the town a full UK Driving License is essential.
