Maintenance Operator Positions – Full-Time, Part-Time

Salary: $26.99/hr
Position Status: Full-Time Regular, Part-Time
Maintenance Operators provide operational and maintenance services to multiple recreation and municipal facilities, grounds and areas to ensure clean and safe facilities. They will carry out repairs as needed, assess and troubleshoot problems, and set up/ carry out preventative maintenance programs. They will perform general labour and repair activities on facilities and outdoor spaces including cleaning and day-to-day maintenance duties such as minor plumbing, painting, etc. This could include operating small tools/equipment, performing mechanical and technical maintenance of refrigeration systems, heating and ventilation systems, and outdoor structures.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Grade 12 Diploma
- Must possess and maintain a clean valid ‘G’ Class Ontario Driver’s License.
- Must have a minimum one (1) years building maintenance experience
- Must have proven work-related experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, pool filtration, boilers, or HVAC in professional/commercial setting
- Experience operating a Bobcat is considered an asset
- Valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card is considered an asset
- Must have familiarity with office related programs with ability to learn new programs
- Knowledge of Instrumentation and Control Systems would be considered an asset
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk extended periods of time
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills with a proven focus on service delivery
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations specifically concerning the requirements for job hazard analysis and the development of and training on safe work procedures
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Ability to get along well with others including supervisors, coworkers, members of the public and other partners in service
Hours of Work: 7 day operation, shift work may be required
Salary & Benefits: Benefits in accordance with Collective Agreement. $26.99/hr
