Description:

Job Summary: Performs major repairs and preventative maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to accept directions and priorities form the Head Maintenance Engineer and reliably follow- through on tasks.
  • Ability to perform job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guest.
  • Ability to be friendly and cheerful; interact easily with strangers.
  • Ability to cooperate and support others.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work with both indoors and outdoors equipment including: vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning machines, floor buffers, lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc.
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, be in good physical condition, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 100# or more may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently

Responsibilities:

  • Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, whenever possible going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Inspects all operating systems and components of the hotel to ensure they are operating properly, efficiently and safely.
  • Promptly responds to front desk reports of guest problems or concerns, informs the front desk when action is complete.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, or makes recommendation for repairs, of all mechanical/electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, all building components and furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Advise if an outside contractor is needed.
  • Maintains the grounds, landscaping, and parking areas in a clean, neat, safe, and attractive manner.
  • Performs the RPM schedule on a timely basis, ensuring that all elements of the guest room meet the standards of the property.
  • Performs painting, carpentry, plumbing, carpet cleaning, and other jobs as necessary.
  • Procures and maintains an inventory of maintenance supplies in order to perform duties.
  • Maintains all storage areas, shops, vending and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, and secure manner.
  • Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
  • Keeps General Manager and Head Maintenance Engineer promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required
