Description:
Reporting to the Executive Manager: Operations, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for the implementation of planned maintenance and to assist the various discipline managers within the Operations Department in realizing the V&A Waterfront’s preventive maintenance strategy and guiding its asset management plan. The initial purpose of the job will be to oversee, direct, maintain and be responsible for all customization and optimization of the ‘Plan On’ computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and develop the necessary workflows, protocols and operating procedures required to deliver on the asset management plan.
The Maintenance Planner also works with all senior managers, supervisors and contractors to manage the planned, scheduled, and predictive maintenance, schedule the entering work orders, providing the necessary reports to enable efficient completion of all work orders/ maintenance schedule. The Maintenance Planner must ensure that the CMMS system functions optimally and must frequently consult with the Business Application Manager in terms of integration with ‘MRI’, the V&A Waterfront’s ERP and property management system to ensure current and future integration points, workflows and integrations are functioning optimally.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- National Diploma in the Engineering or Built Environment Field (T or S stream) (NQF Level 5/6) with appropriate experience
- Artisan with minimum NTC3 (NQF Level 4) OR deemed equivalent AND successful completion of an appropriate apprenticeship or successful passing of a recognized industry trade test.
- Supervisory Management Course(s) Advantageous
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated knowledge of building trades and practices, knowledge of air conditioning plant/equipment, BMS systems, electrical and electronic installations.
- Working knowledge of the relevant legislation, i.e. OHS Act, Building Regulations and SANS Codes, etc.
- Building Services and their integration in the larger Built Environment
- Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages, and customer value
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly MS Excel
- Knowledge of JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP or similar ERP type CMMS/EAM
