POSITION OVERVIEW:

We provide multiple skills and business techniques such as: systems solutions, process improvement, quality function deployment, continuous flow manufacturing and integrated supply chain management.
A Senior Project Consultant with a maintenance focus, will work on a team and be assigned to a project to work at one of our client locations (you will travel from your home base anywhere in the U.S. or Canada) and benefit from the extensive experience of the members. You will learn the needed skill sets and business techniques required to be successful in our business as a business architect and change practitioner that brings the right solutions to each project. The specific position responsibilities are within the scope of project management with a focus on maintenance which relates to workflow analysis, planning, change process and systems implementation. We work closely with our clients in a partnership to achieve measurable results in process flow, productivity improvement as well as performance management.
TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced computer skills; including MS Office Suite.
- Fluency in MS Project and or Primavera (P6), Minitab statistics package, Power BI and/or Tableau preferred.
- Prior experience with Enterprise resource planning (ERP) and/or Work Order management tools preferred. SAP experience preferred.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), Maximo experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of maintenance processes and practices in a dynamic work environment.
- Be well versed in operational excellence methodologies, be passionate about clients, and dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and APICS certifications are a plus)
- Training in a formal process, organization, change, and/or learning improvement methodology at an enterprise level client or employer.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences at all organizational levels. Translating technical concepts into broadly understood terms is an essential skill.
- Performance driven and self-motivated.
- Be comfortable functioning as either an individual consultant or in a team-based role on a broader engagement, with a focus on delivery and implementation.
- Have demonstrated flexibility and the willingness to tailor your approach specifically based on USC’s methodologies and clients’ needs.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline, with a preference for industrial engineering, operations management, supply chain management or analytics
- 2 - 5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing, mining and metals, or aviation environment preferred.
- Have a valid driver’s license, and a Canadian or US Passport.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 5 nights a week required.
- Fluency in multiple languages is an asset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The majority of our business comes from production manufacturing, maintenance and mining companies. As a result, while performing the duties of the job, you will be in and around large and/or moving equipment and experience a wide range of temperatures and climates. USC takes every precaution and measure to ensure a safe and reasonably comfortable work environment, but as a “boots on the ground” consulting company, employees are expected to interact with clients in and around their space of work. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud and employees may be required to live in rustic conditions.
