Description:

Ergon Refining in Vicksburg currently has an opening for a Maintenance/Project Engineer. This position monitors and coordinates daily maintenance activities, provides technical/ engineering support to maintenance groups as needed, striving to continually identify and implement means of predicting and preventing equipment failures.

MAINTENANCE / PROJECT ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, is required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a petrochemical and / or manufacturing environment is preferred
    The person selected must be self-motivated with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and successfully complete and pass a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE).
    Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. A clean MVR is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the initiation, development, assignment and completion of general maintenance work orders and strive to identify areas in which improvement can be made to decrease failure and increase the efficiency of repairs.
  • Provide technical / engineering support on a continual basis to the Mechanical Maintenance and IEC Maintenance Departments to coordinate work that involves multiple departments and to ensure that all maintenance-related tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinate and / or schedule non-routine maintenance work including maintenance and emergency shutdowns.
  • Maintain updated files for all plant equipment containing summaries of major repairs, purchasing documentation showing parts, etc. ordered and associated costs, and any other documentation related to the equipment that may be needed.
  • Maintain and develop a computerized preventive maintenance system to periodically provide maintenance to plant equipment as needed to reduce equipment failures.
  • Coordinate Plant Turnarounds
  • Participate in all aspects of miscellaneous project and maintenance engineering as necessary to meet the needs of the Maintenance / Engineering Department.
