THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our team as a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services Operations Manager, supporting the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Maintenance Services Team. This unique opportunity is located at HMAS Albatross located in Nowra, NSW.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ability to achieve Chartered status through Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in leading and managing a moderately sized technical team in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in the aviation or military maintenance environment, while not essential is desirable.
  • Proven experience in working and contributing to delivering results in a team environment.
  • Experience in building and sustaining collaborative relationships with peers, leaders and customer representatives in a diverse environment.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of up to 70 staff across, maintenance, planning and technical support, and liaise with other managers to ensure the timely progression of aircraft maintenance activities in both Nowra, NSW and Oakey, QLD.
  • Act as a member of the BDA Program Sustainment Services leadership team and contribute to the effective management of the business.
  • Provide leadership and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and execute integrated plans, policies and procedures and provide input on business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the HATS Part 145 maintenance organisation, including the management of Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE).
  • Execute the Continuing Airworthiness Services for the program, including fleet planning, flight line management and engineering technical services.
