Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager or Facilities Manager looking for a new challenge in the horticulture or plant nursery industry? Fleurie Nursery Ltd, based in Chichester, West Sussex, is recruiting a proactive and skilled Maintenance & Site Facilities Manager. We are part of the renowned Farplants Group, known for our high-quality plant production and customer-focused approach in the wholesale horticultural market.

Fleurie Nursery Ltd is a well-established leader in the UK horticultural industry, supplying a wide range of high-quality plants to the wholesale market. We operate across four nursery sites in West Sussex, with a dedicated team of 45 employees, expanding to 80 during peak seasons. As part of the Tristram Plants and Farplants Group, we have a strong reputation for excellence in plant production, customer service, and innovation.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We’re looking for a highly organised and technically skilled individual with a strong background in facilities management or maintenance management. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in facility management or maintenance roles within industries such as horticulture, agriculture, or manufacturing.
  • Strong technical skills across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, roofing, groundworks, engineering, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing maintenance teams and projects.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and experience ensuring compliance.
  • Competency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong budgeting and project management skills, with experience overseeing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

As our Maintenance & Site Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities operate efficiently and that all maintenance tasks are carried out to the highest standards. This role involves:

  • Leading preventative maintenance schedules and responding to day-to-day repairs to support production and operational targets.
  • Managing all facility maintenance tasks, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general site maintenance across our multi-site operations.
  • Overseeing external contractors for projects and repairs, ensuring work is completed to specification and within budget.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards across all nursery sites.
  • Monitoring and managing the department’s budget for maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of all repairs, maintenance, and service schedules.
  • Collaborating with the management team to align maintenance activities with business goals.
