SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Trade Qualification as Mechanical Fitter, Electrical/Instrumentation technician’
- 15+ years’ experience in maintenance of a continuous process plant (desirable: experience in maintaining ChlorAlkali or other chemical plant).
- Experience in computerised maintenance management systems and the MS suite of applications.
- Experience in managing multi-discipline employees and contractors.
- Experience in planning and/or organising work and work packages.
- Experience in working around hazardous materials/chemicals.
- Ability to accurately assess risk.
- Strong safety ethic.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting a newly created position of Maintenance Superintendent to join our Laverton site.
As Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the team that handles day-to-day maintenance and shutdown activities. You will ensure effective planning and communication and work orders are completed safely, on time and within budget.
Our Laverton site is a designated Major Hazard Facility (MHF) and the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance of maintenance activity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the maintenance activities carried out on site comply with legislation, regulations, and the Ixom SH&E management system.
- Implement improvements to enhance the safety of maintenance and site operations when opportunities are identified.
- Develop and maintain a motivated team that can safely deliver the maintenance strategies, including planned and unplanned maintenance with a view to continually improving efficiency, cost-effectiveness and plant reliability.
- Ensure effective planning, scheduling and communication to achieve work completion targets and budgetary requirements.
- Manage maintenance workshop, including equipment and inventory.
- Implement the maintenance strategy and ensure the asset management system is utilised in accordance with company requirements.
- Build and maintain professional relationships and successful lines of communication with operations and supply chain stakeholders.
