Description:

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the daily and long-term maintenance operation of the raw area of the plant, MRO system, parts inventory, maintenance workers while maintaining and upholding all food safety and OHS guidelines.

  • Coordinate with the Electrical Supervisor and supervision of union employees
  • Work with the Maintenance Planner, plans and schedules major shutdowns and mechanics’ daily and long-term workload
  • Completes equipment PMs in advance to ensure correct work orders and parts are on hand for major shutdowns
  • Work with the MRO Coordinator to have essential parts on hand for all weekend and major shutdowns
  • Manages Part Rebuild, PM and Inventory programs
  • Coordinates mechanics work with the production department to ensure continuous operations
  • Develops, issues and supervises PM work orders to ensure continuous improvement
  • Responsible for the actions, output and health & safety of maintenance department employees and related contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Experience with French fry processing and a clear understanding of the steps involved in the production of French fries.
  • Trade certification or college diploma is required (industrial electrician, industrial mechanic, heavy duty mechanic, and instrumentation technician).
  • Excellent technical background for identification of obsolete items, OEM part sourcing and maintenance background
  • Strong proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, excel, and spreadsheets and AS400.
  • Experience directing fast paced maintenance activities in a food manufacturing plant
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • A strong communicator, both written and oral, who is confident, decisive, able to deal with conflict and yet achieve win-win results
  • Preference given to a candidate who has maintenance supervisor or planner experience.
