Description:

Thomson Reuters is looking for a Maintenance & Support Specialist to be a part of our Special Technology Services and TV Support Teams based in London. The successful candidate will be accountable for the service delivery and day-to-day support of dedicated television production capabilities located in London, as well as end-user compute with focus on macOS. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated IT professional with expertise in all areas of IT support, installation and development, with experience in Broadcast Televisio. The role requires a dedicated hands-on and proactive approach to work.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices;
  • Working knowledge of a scripting language;
  • Good understanding of networking and TCP/IP, subnets, routers, firewalls, etc.;
  • Field news coverage technologies;
  • Understanding of live studio video production systems;
  • Understanding of Newsroom Information and Communication systems;
  • Cisco/Microsoft certifications;
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix;
  • Experience of system configuration management tools;
  • Professional satellite reception infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance & Support Specialist, you will:

  • Perform daily support & monitoring for all appropriate systems;
  • Research, design and deployment of technical solutions for multimedia operations;
  • Focus on continual service improvement.
  • Be responsible for updates and patching of systems.
  • Follow Change Management process, according to corporate best practices.
  • Adhere to IT security best practices.
  • Be the a focal contact in the build process and deployments of macOS systems for across the newsroom with emphasis on TV users and needs. Working and advising the business on best practice, with regards to builds, security and licensing.
  • Provide onsite studio support.
  • Be responsible for implementing both globally driven and locally requested support, operational and project deliverables. Includes studio-based, broadcast television and broader areas of multimedia support.
