QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a valid Industrial Millwright (433A) or valid Electrical license in the province of Ontario (309A or 442).
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in a supervisory or team lead role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Thorough understanding and enforcement of workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Great attention to detail with accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing involved.
  • May repeat the same movement.
  • Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel toed safety shoes/boots and beard nets.
  • Ability to bend or twist their body.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for overseeing the manufacturing of goods, training of maintenance staff and the smooth running and upkeep of all production lines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Oversight of daily maintenance department activities on your shift.
  • Be responsible for the performance of the equipment on the production floor through OEE and efficiency on assigned shift
  • Be responsible for the development and coaching of all employees. Will be evaluated based on employee satisfaction results
  • Supervise and train maintenance technicians as per company training program.
  • Identify and continuously strive to reduce waste
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Enforce and champion health and safety procedures and policies
  • Be responsible for production output
  • Allocate resources effectively to complete Work Orders and PMs as assigned by Maintenance Manager & Scheduler/Planner.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Implement a training/development plan for each mechanic that correlates with the millwright job description.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to set and achieve company priorities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial and local requirements
  • Promote and encourage the company’s mission, vision and culture of training
  • Review, measure, report effectiveness of training through analytical performance of each operator and/or supervisor
  • Manage the disciplinary action procedure, the performance improvement plan, and the annual Performance Review for the team.
  • Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
  • Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
  • Approve the vacation requests.
  • Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
  • Issue disciplinary action when needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties and manage waterlogs.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
